Thestis Dawnweaver
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Mage
Age: 125
Character Traits: Haughty, arrogant, inferiority complex.
Thestis led an average life for the son of a Magister of Silvermoon; pampered and wealthy and in possession of a large amount of political clout due to his station. However, he was never naturally talented with the arts of magic and, unlike some of his peers at the Dalaran academy, required to spend hours pouring over scrolls to understand even the most simple of enchantments. Much to his father's constant (and vocal) disappointment.
This constant feeling of inferiority has plagued him throgughout his life, leading to him building a large and fragile ego - One he will subconciously shield from outside battering by dismissing more powerful spellcasters, and even his allies, as inferior. Either for the nature of their art ("That's not real magic.") or their race - Due to this his relations with the other races of the Horde are strained, at best, and he would much rather his foolish leaders (Thestis would do a much better job, oh yes) had rejoined the Alliance.
Shame from being too weak-willed to bear the withdrawal effects from the corruption of the Sunwell and being forced to absorb fel magic has only made his attitude worse.
Thestis understands the threat that both the Burning Legion and the Lich King pose to all of Azeroth, yet only seeks to aid the hard-pressed armies of the horde for personal gain:
If he can show himself as a hero in the eyes of the Kirin'Tor, perhaps the High-Elf wife that disowned him for siding with the blood elves will take him back...

Snazzy New Banner
Figured that Thestis deserved some screen-time, especially considering how neglected he is right now.

Dramatis Personae
Here's a quick run down of my characters RP-wise:
Alexei Stefan Almarov-Quillain
"The Lorekeeper"
Race: Human
Class: Paladin
Age: 33
Almarov was born in Moonbrook (that ruined town in Westfall) just before the opening of the dark portal and the start of the First War. His father was killed in the preliminary skirmishes against the Old Horde whilst trying to flee to the relative safety of Stormwind City. Eventually, when the city fell his mother took him North with the rest of the refugees to Lordaeron.
Almarov's mother began work cleaning the houses of wealthy nobles, lacking much in the way of special skills, and eventually got married to Reginald Quillain - A rich and influencial widower.
Whilst growing up in Capital City he played around with his new step-brother, Drayvik, where Almarov was relentlessly beaten in fights by the classically trained and aggressive youngster. Whilst spending time recovering in his room he managed to get ahold of books about the Light and when he was old enough he travelled South to the newly rebuilt Northshire Abbey in order to train as a priest.
The main catalyst for Almarov training as a paladin, rather than continuing life happily amongst his books was when he learned that his mother and Drayvik had been killed in events surrounding the plague up North. Eventually electing to join the Theramore Marines, Almarov was stationed for some time as a diplomatic ataché in Darnassus, where he became close friends with Nelspa Moonraven.
Overall, Almarov is a quiet and composed man who values loyalty and compassion above all else, but has a tendency to assume the best from people and over-analyse situations. When not slicing undead monsters into ribbons he can usually be found with his nose deep inside a book on religious philosophy (he is especially fond of the new Draenei approach to faith) or spending time with his friend Nelspa.
Recent Developments:
Almarov has temporarily resigned his commision to the Alliance military (due to their constant squabbling with the Horde rather than the more pressing threat) and has instead headed to Northrend alongside the Argent Crusade with the aim of breaking down the doors to Icecrown.
...He has yet to meet up with Drayvik.
Drayvik Quillain
Race: Undead Human
Class: Death Knight
Age: 35
Sharing much of the same upbringing with Alexei, the only major difference is where Drayvik was sent away to train in sword fighting and infantry command, eventually being stationed as a mid-level officer in Andorhall - Two weeks before the Scourge attack and the sacking of the town.
Raised as a second generation Death Knight, Drayvik served as an instructor in Acherus for two years before the Battle for Light's Hope. Recently, having been freed from the control of the Lich King, Drayvik seems happy to squander his second chance at "life" with a suicidal attempt at revenge for his undead state.
I'll post more as I flesh out their backstories and personalities.

My Usual Luck
Took Almarov along to a guild run of Naxxramas 10-man tonight and downed several bosses whilst only wiping a couple of times on the Instructor (took a while to get my timing right). All in all, a pretty textbook run... If completely bereft of drops for your friendly neighbourhood paladin.
Well, this one anyway. The other 3 all walked off with something. Even if some of it was hunter loot.
Jo, meanwhile, pulled her usual trick of getting everything and managed to snag herself a [Robes of Hoarse Breaths] as well as her tier 7 shoulder token.
Congrats to her.
(Sigh)
